The PHILIPP connecting rail is a flexible component used to create structural connections between precast reinforced concrete elements. It is based on the principle of an overlapping joint and enables a simple, cost-effective, and practical connection of, for example, wall-to-wall or wall-to-column structures in precast construction.
The system consists of a galvanized steel sheet profile with integrated wire rope loops. The profiled surface ensures a secure bond with the concrete, while the flexible loops are unfolded after formwork removal and automatically overlap during installation. Inserting a reinforcing bar and then backfilling the joint creates a force-fit connection.
A key advantage of the connecting bar is its high flexibility. It allows even complex connection details to be implemented without having to adjust the main reinforcement. At the same time, it eliminates the need for the time-consuming process of bending reinforcement bars back, thereby reducing installation time and minimizing sources of error.
The connecting rail is particularly suitable for non-load-bearing structural connections in precast construction. It is installed directly on the formwork or recessed into a groove, with the integrated mortar channel ensuring clean and complete backfilling.
