Turning heavy objects
Unlock the chain wheel with the remote control and also use the Pro models as a guide pulley. The chain can then run freely without resistance. If longer chain stops are required, these are available as accessories.
Precise and finely tuned alignment
With its reversible stroke, the L-series offers maximum precision and can be precisely balanced thanks to its two speeds.
Optimize your productivity
Objects can be aligned effortlessly at the touch of a button, reducing expensive crane and downtime.
Robust and strong
Robust and proven technology and a reliable electric motor ensure that the L-series can be used in all weather conditions from -20 to +40°C, even under difficult conditions.
Reliable and easy to handle
Thanks to the robust housing and IP65-rated electric drive, the GANTERUD L series is not only easy to operate in all positions, but also uncomplicated to clean.
Radio remote control
A user-friendly, IP67-rated remote control makes controlling the leveling and traversing devices child’s play.
Minimal maintenance required
In addition to regular cleaning, only the battery charge needs to be checked. The battery charge level can be read directly behind the maintenance flap.
Do you have any questions?
We have the answer
1. what is the leveling force?
The force that the sprocket can apply. This force is the maximum difference from side A to side B that the load may have.
2 What does the "A" on the remote control mean?
Do NOT press! Otherwise you can easily disconnect the remote control from the device. - Must then be linked again -> Information in the operating instructions.
3. where can I read the battery level?
Behind the maintenance flap on the device itself. GREEN = >75%, YELLOW = >50%, RED = <25%
4. can I also switch on the fast run function for the hub?
NO! This is only for faster equalization of the chain lengths - in the unloaded state.
5. what is the "unlock" function all about - and in case of doubt, can the load change if I unlock by mistake?
The disengagement function switches the sprocket to "idler" mode. This MUST always be engaged before the stroke in order to prevent a one-sided additional load. If this is triggered under load, the gear resistance of approx. 5-10% of the riveting force prevents uncontrolled reversal of the load. However, it should not be used carelessly!
6. what safety features does the appliance offer? (automatic switch-off, weight display...)
The appliance does not switch off in the event of overload - nor does it have a weight display. If you are unsure, please ask PHILIPP GmbH or use a crane scale. All load-bearing parts have a safety factor of 4:1 against breakage. The hook cannot be retracted as the device knows the chain length (zero position).
7. how long does the battery last?
Depending on the load. With "normal load" approx. one week. With demanding loads (climbing heavy stairs), approx. 1-2 days.
8. can the device be charged during rain/snow?
L3-L12: The maintenance flap can be closed while charging. L20: There is a cover for bad weather.
9. can the chain be shortened?
Yes, this can be done by PHILIPP GmbH, and a longer chain can also be installed. In general, however, you should check BEFORE ordering whether a longer or shorter chain makes sense.
10. how far does the radio range of the remote control extend?
Approx. 100 mtr. with unobstructed field of vision
11. if I have heavy objects, can I place them on top when leveling to have less weight hanging on the Ganterud?
NO! The following applies to all PRO devices: "Only level in the air!" Placing the load "on the ground" can lead to the load's balance being disturbed. This can result in greater forces and the motor can easily be overloaded.
12. what do I do if the load I am lifting/leveling is too heavy?
Contact PHILIPP GmbH, we will help you to design your load correctly. Using a crane scale on one of the chain sides is also a common solution.
13. may I use the Ganterud balancing device for lifting with one line?
NO! - Never hang only one hook!
14 What do I need to consider before use?
- Read and understand the operating instructions
- Visual inspection of the device
- Check battery level and switch on circuit breaker
- Checking the function of the device
- Plan the lifting process / create a risk analysis
15 How do I charge the device?
Switch off the equalizer -> Switch off the isolating switch.
16 How and by whom must the device be tested?
By an authorized service partner (PHILIPP GmbH in the DACH region) Every 12 months.
17. is the leveling force sufficient to level my desired object?
Reference example: A customer in Munich had the requirement to move 28-tonne stairs with a platform from the low loader (horizontal) into position (approx. 65°). The maximum weight difference on both sides was approx. 4.5 tons. We were able to reproduce this case with 2 L20 units. If the customer is unsure, it is advisable to call PHILIPP GmbH in advance!
