The MAX FRANK Coupler is a mechanical screw connection for the friction-locked connection of reinforcing steel bars and represents an efficient alternative to the classic lap joint. It is used wherever overlaps are not structurally possible, not permitted or uneconomical – for example with large bar diameters, high reinforcement density or demanding infrastructure projects.
The system usually consists of a socket rod with a pre-assembled screw socket for the first construction section and a connecting rod for the second construction section. The mechanical connection enables direct force transmission independent of the bond to the concrete, ensuring a high level of safety and efficiency in the construction process.
A particular advantage is the complete force transmission (“bar break”), in which the break occurs outside the connection in the reinforcing steel itself. At the same time, the cross-section and load-bearing capacity of the steel are completely retained.
The MAX FRANK Coupler is suitable for static and dynamic loads and complies with international standards. This makes the system suitable for demanding applications, including seismically stressed structures and infrastructure projects.
With various connection variants, diameters from 12 to 40 mm and optional special solutions, the coupler offers maximum flexibility for modern reinforcement concepts in building construction and civil engineering.
