👀 How do you get concrete hands that weigh several metric tons into position?
During the construction of the monumental statue of the Virgin Mary in Konotopie, Poland, this very aspect posed a particular technical challenge: The two concrete hands had to be lifted safely and held in the exact specified position throughout the entire lifting process. 🏗️
The PHILIPPGROUP developed the appropriate transport anchor solution for this project—from calculating the anchor positions and sling lengths to the necessary hardware.⚙️
In-house software made it possible to precisely calculate the forces involved and the positioning of the attachment points. During the lifting operation, a Ganterud load-balancing device and additional chain hoists provided the necessary fine adjustments. 💪🏗️
This made it possible to lift the concrete elements, which weighed several metric tons, in a controlled manner and connect them precisely to the statue. 🔩
🎥 The video impressively demonstrates how this works in practice through the assembly of the two hands.
